Attention all tennis players, pickleball players and community members!
On Tuesday, September 17th at 7:00pm, the County is holding a Community Park meeting at El Cariso Park, in the Community Center gymnasium, to seek the public’s ideas and feedback for planned improvements to the park.
We are asking NJTP students, parents and the community at large, to please come to the meeting and help us advocate for making improvements for both tennis and pickleball at El Cariso Park!
Tennis and pickleball have both grown substantially in recent years, with each sport attracting many new players.
The County recently converted court #11 at El Cariso from tennis to pickleball. However, this is not sufficient even for current needs, and converting tennis courts to pickleball will not support the long-term needs of either sport.
We want to request that the County make the following improvements at El Cariso:
- Provide a new, dedicated area for 6 to 8 pickleball courts, separate from the upper and lower tennis courts areas and with extra space for waiting players, equipment, etc.
- Convert court #11 back to tennis, and add 2 to 4 new tennis courts to satisfy increased demand for tennis courts.
These meetings are an important source of input from the community, which the County uses to determine budget and resource allocation and park priorities.
